Current Projects in Need of Additional Funding

Management of center and skill training

Ernest Gyimah is a young man with the heart for God and Daniel 1:8 Ministries. He has volunteered with the ministry from the very first day and his commitment is unquestionable. When a decision was arrived at after many days of prayer and leading of the Holy Spirit to start the Ministry in Nsuta, he gladly agreed to move into our center/home in Nsuta to lead the ministry for young people within the community and other neighbouring villages and equally manage the Ministry’s center.

Now it is necessary that Ernest is given some monthly allowances for his upkeep and a motorbike to take him to communities where commercial vehicles do not ply often so as to reach out to more young people for mentoring and discipleship.

The Nsuta community alone has a lot of young people whose lives are being wasted away by wayward activities and wrong choices; the major destructive tools the devil is using are drugs, alcohol and sex and because of that they live very carefree lives. They are not motivated to pursue academic heights even though schools are in the village because they prefer this bad alternative way of live and sound christian values are missing though there are churches all over and interacting with them they claim to belong to one church or the other. Getting through to these young ones can be quite challenging because of the social activities they are exposed to which are having negative effects on every sphere of their lives.

However, we know we are not going to do this on our strength and might but through the help and empowerment of our Lord Jesus Christ. We need to give these young ones a role model ministry and leadership that they can count on and look up to to guide them with the principles of Christ. D1:8 wants to go in there with our approach of being a non-church ministry yet grounded on the sound principles of Christ. We want to reach out to one community and one young person at a time. We know we cannot do it all but we can play our part in this great commission and you can help us to make this happen. With your generous support we would be able to get Ernest a motorbike and give him monthly allowances to sustain himself as he lead this great assignment in the community.

Manager and trainer for vocational training

Screen Shot 2020-03-17 at 8.39.21 PM.png

Our Ministry still holds on to our hope of seeing people especially young ones being given vocational skills to live on instead of unwholesome lifestyles to survive.

Last year we were able to rehabilitate 3 classroom blocks to quite a nice level for skill training to begin. Our major set back however has been the funds to be able to hire the services of a qualified person to manage the program and trainer to undertake the training. Though we have held discussions with 2 of such qualified persons, the project is still on hold because the ministry has no available funding to be able to roll out.

We believe with you generous one-time or monthly support we can start this program that we believe would bless many lives both within that community and afar.

Carpentry and Interior Vocational Training Block

20180724_161916.jpgThis old classroom structure has three (3) classrooms and two small rooms that can serve as an office for the home manager. When refurbished it would be used as training rooms for our students into beading and sewing and an office for the manager of the home. Currently the building has leaking sheets, broken doors and cracked floors and portions of the walls. If we can start running the training from January then we would need donations to get this place fixed up well.

Proposed start date: 17th December 2018

Project budget:  An estimated $7,865.50 would be needed to renovate the training block.

Boarding Rooms

20180724_162615.jpgThere are currently two sizable rooms that would serve as boarding rooms for some of our students that might have to lodge. Each room can accommodate 10 of the bunk beds making 20 students per room. The rooms currently need painting, doors, nets and some missing window blades. Also there is the need to put these bunk beds in them for our students.

Proposed start date: 4th January 2019

DONE! THANK YOU! - Ministry Leader's Quarters Renovation

Screen Shot 2020-03-17 at 8.33.42 PM.pngThis building when renovated would serve as residence for our trainers, especially who would be coming from outside the community to train our students. The building is currently the oldest building at the home and so it is a little old and needs a lot of work to be done on it. This project is very necessary because a good accommodation would motivate our trainers to give out their best.

Proposed start date: 4th January 2019

Proposed end date: COMPLETE!

Project budget:  An estimated $4,351.25 would be needed to renovate the trainers quarters.

Amount already pledged: COMPLETE!

Library

Screen Shot 2020-03-17 at 8.41.17 PM.pngThis project is dear to the heart of the ministry because most of our prospective students are illiterate and semi-illiterat. A stocked library with a variety of reading materials and textbooks to pick from would let our students be on top of their game. Currently, the library building is in need of a roof, doors, windows and rewiring. Lots to do

Proposed start date: May 15th, 2020

Proposed end date: December 15th, 2020

Project budget:  An estimated $7500.00 would be needed to renovate the library. (This amount does not cover books).
